路透社報導，川普在推特（Twitter）發文說：「我很高興在此告知大家，美國已和墨西哥簽署協議。美國原定10日對墨西哥實施的關稅措施，在此宣告無限期暫停實施。」

川普說：「墨西哥則已同意採取強硬措施，遏阻經由墨西哥到我國南部邊境的移民潮。此舉是為了大幅減少或消除從墨西哥進入美國的非法移民人潮。」
