佔領華爾街主題曲──「終於來了」！
見諸歷史上掀起重大變革的運動，一開始不見得都是驚天動地般引爆。佔領華爾街運動第一天的確有上千人響應，但接下來的靜坐、紮營佔領，人數就變得稀少，似乎會在大家的忽略下默默消失。但就在十月一日，抗議群眾從曼哈頓遊行到布魯克林大橋，紐約警方逮捕了近七百人的舉動，引發媒體爭相報導，就此運動開始延燒美國各大城市，十月十五日更是全球同步抗議。
這個沒有單一、明確訴求的運動，充滿唐吉軻德式的理想色彩，參與的人清一色是街頭運動的菜鳥，沒有領導者，沒有活動流程，一種開放式的結局，不在於依循規則，而是憑心之所向。
獲2009年普立茲新聞評論獎的羅賓森(Eugene Robinson)稱，佔領華爾街運動的這種表現非常的「蒙提巨莽」(Monty Python)。「蒙提派森」或「蒙提巨莽」，是英國的喜劇團體，發跡於1969年，他們對喜劇的影響，就如披頭四對音樂的影響。他們的特色是，結構鬆散，卻深具意識流的創新手法，將被普遍可接受的風格與內容的界線推向極限，改變了娛樂觀眾的表演方式。他們的創造力讓他們可以在內容與形式上實驗創新，丟棄傳統電視喜劇的規範。
當佔領華爾街抗議不被允許使用擴音器，他們的對策是，從最靠近演說或宣佈事項的人開始口耳相傳、逐字逐句相傳下去，有如漣漪般擴大，如此最外圍的人也可收到正確的訊息。這種作法非常手工，也有些可笑，但真的有效。羅賓森說，演變成具有強大撼動力的抗議運動，通常都帶有幽默感。
佔領華爾街運動直搗資本主義的黃龍──華爾街，足見運動者對極端資本主義造成財富集中在少數人的病症有深刻的瞭解。金融部門應對活絡經濟提供重要服務，而不是自肥，其自肥的結果，引發全世界的金融災難，造成貧富差距極端化，中產階級大量消失，屬於下一代的社會與自然資源被蠶食鯨吞！
不過就如社評家艾森斯坦(Charles Eisenstein)所言，佔領華爾街運動不在於修理成長機器，帶給地球每個角落利潤與產品，而是著眼於文明軌道的根本性改變。「我們不是要消除那1%的人，而是要喚醒他們‥‥我們要每個人覺醒知覺到我們所能創造的美麗。」
